M.K.A.(1) Metall Baukasten and
M.F.C. Metall Baukasten
Construction Sets
The M.K.A.(1) / M.F.C. Metall Baukasten construction system contained a combination of Meccano-like and Trix-like parts, made from mainly natural aluminium. Although a few parts in some M.K.A. sets appear to be colour anodised.
The precise chronology of this system is quite confusing. However it was initially called M.K.A. Metall Baukasten (from around 1951/2) and then around 1953 it was renamed M.F.C. Metall Baukasten (with no change to sets), the reason for which is currently unknown. During the transition period some M.F.C. sets have been seen with M.K.A. manuals. It then appears to have reverted back to M.K.A. Metall Baukasten by 1956. This system was made in East Germany in the 1950s.
Note that in around 1950, the system was preceded by M.K.A.(2) - Der Klein Pratikant sets. These contained only Meccano-like parts.
This system appears to be the same as the Yunyy Konstruktor(2) (Юный Конструктор) sets.
